"Let's go Steelers!"

This is how Gideon and Savanna left for school this morning no doubt to join a sea of black and gold in the hallways of BBSD. Yes, the Steelers are going to the Super Bowl and boy, you know it around here.

I grew up in Montana so we didn't really have a close football team to root for and I never really got into the craze of pro football at all. But, that's not really possible here. We are an hour from Pittsburgh and we definately love the Steelers ("we" meaning everyone around here). Dare I say that (I'm whispering now) I don't really care too much and I can't stand sitting through a whole football game on TV. I actually look forward to a little quiet time somewhere else in the house while Dad is bonding with the kids. So, with that being said....

"LET'S GO STEELERS!"

I definitely feel the same way! I have learned much about football since we got married, but still, the superbowl doesn't do anything for me :)

Trista,

I have to admit I love football, especially college and though not a Steeler fan, (GO GIANTS!!) I am looking forward to a good game tomorrow.

The quarterback for the Cardinals played arena football for years and everyone told him to quit. It is a great lesson in perseverance, as he never gave up and look where he is now!

Thanks for today. The kids had a great time and it was nice to talk with such friendly, kind and accepting people.

I guess my actual feelings are that I LOVE to watch any sport my kids are in, I really like college sports, love the Olympics, but I just don't care for professional sports. Too much money involved for me, I think.

Trista,

You are much too tough on yourself. I enjoyed reading your blog and didn't find it boring at all.

I agree with you, anything my kids are in..I love. I think I like college football better that pro, just because it still has the illusion of no money involved!!

When you grow up in a home that are Steeler fanatics, you can't help but love them. I don't really watch the games either, but I love my families reaction to the games. And when the Steelers are in the Super Bowl I am definitely a fan.
